Ok why a "fullmoon" party? Many of us do not know why we celebrate baby's 1st month. In Chinese Culture, a baby's first month birthday calls for a celebration. Proud parents introduce their latest addition to friends and relatives by holding a "Red Egg Or Ginger" party. Traditionally, the baby's name is also announced at this time.
Red Egg Or Ginger parties have their origins in ancient Chinese culture. Due to infant mortality rates in China were quite high, a baby who reached one month of age was likely to survive. Hence, the celebration it's a must to appreciate the survival of the baby. Red egg Or ginger are a must as a symbolize health & prosperity to the new infant and new chapter for the proud parents. Today, we celebrate 1st month baby is to give thanks and to introduce the additional member in the family.
